WORK PACKAGE 3
The aim of this WP3 will be to develop new, efficient methods for the production of perrhenic acid and other rhenium compounds (including nickel(II) and cobalt(II) perrhenates) from the available waste materials, e.g. from eluates with a low concentration of Re, different types of ammonium perrhenate or from salt solutions obtained in the WP1, using solvent extraction.
As a part of the research, attempts will be made to select appropriate extraction solvents for the separation of rhenium compounds. The impact of the individual parameters on the efficiency of the process will also be examined and a general evaluation of the possibility of using the developed extraction method for the selected materials or waste on an industrial scale will be made. The result of the research will be to obtain high purity perrhenic acid and rhenium salts – perrhenates of metals, produced in the WP1.
